Atlantic logistics platform

The ports currently governed by Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port Authority are a living memory of the great ocean-going voyages, particularly to America.
Christopher Columbus set sail from San Sebastián de La Gomera to discover the New World; Santa Cruz de La Palma Port was the third most important in Europe, after Seville and Antwerp, in the 16th century; and Santa Cruz de Tenerife was an obligatory stopover for all trade in the Canaries in the 18th century.
Today, these ports are still vital for Atlantic traffic because of their geo-strategic location. Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port is the logistics platform for vessels stopping over for refuelling and supplies, and is also one of Spain’s leading ports for cruise and passenger ships.
This is only possible because of our modern, quality facilities and services which encompass the communications and control centre, the refinery, competitive charges and modern computing tools that assist customers with all the administrative procedures required for their operations.
As a result, Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port is gaining a reputation on a worldwide scale as the ideal Atlantic platform for international container transshipment originating or destined for Europe and America, given the proximity of emerging markets on the West African coast.
