Marinas

The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has seven sports marinas located in port areas on a concessionary basis.

The Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has therefore the Puerto Deportivo Marina Santa Cruz at Los Llanos Dock, the Puerto Deportivo Marina Tenerife at the Fishing Dock and Puerto Chico at the same location. There is also an operational marine in the southern area of Tenerife, in Los Cristianos.

The Puerto Marina La Gomera is located in the Port of San Sebastián de La Gomera, and other marine to this effect managed by the company “Puerto Calero” in La Palma.

The most recent marine is located in the Port of La Estaca on the island of El Hierro and, after its recent inclusion, the Tenerife port system provides 1,300 berths on pontoons.

Sports docks in commercial ports have provided services using areas that could not be used for conventional exploitation due to their shallow depth. Since their creation, ports in western islands provide a great service for sailing enthusiasts. The exceptional geographic location of the Canary Islands between continents means a port of call for many sports boats before crossing the Atlantic.

In this respect, sports docks in these ports record almost 100% occupation between September and December, date on which the transoceanic races are held, which also serve as home ports for between 30% and 50% of boats moored.
